Whitsundays

25 - 28 November 2022

If you’ve ever travelled on a group tour departure you will know that in a lot of ways, the group of people you are travelling with can either make the trip a success or a failure.

Our Ladies Long Weekend (LLW) departure to the Whitsundays had an incredible group of women who came together from so many different backgrounds and yet got along so well and made the weekend a roaring success.   The laughter, some resulting in tears, came freely and by the end of the weekend there were some sad farewells and promises to catch up again soon.

On the last weekend in November, we headed to Airlie Beach and checked in to the gorgeous and iconic Coral Sea Resort which was to be a base for the next 3 nights of our LLW.   Our arrival went off with a bang with a glass of sparkling wine awaiting our arrival.  It wasn’t long until we met again for our welcome function of sunset drinks followed by dinner.  Unfortunately, the weather didn’t want to assist us with the sunset drinks, but we thoroughly enjoyed the evening all the same.  A welcome function is always included on an LLW departure to allow the ladies to get together, meet and relax around each other.

On Friday we headed out to the Whitsunday islands and spent the day jet boating around some incredible snorkel locations and finished with drinks on Whitehaven Beach.  One of the highlights was the ‘fish bowl’ where we were literally surrounded by hundreds of fish – incredible.  With a free evening some ladies chose to meet up with locally based friends whilst others chose to dine together and continue to enjoy each other’s company.  Some ladies ‘may’ have danced late into the evening – something few of us get to do any more.

Saturday was a free day for all.  Half the group enjoyed the incredible Blush Spa located at the hotel; others indulged in a little retail therapy. Airlie Beach has several small boutiques and the purchases made were both unique and gorgeous.   We all met later for sunset drinks and platters before retiring for an early night (especially the late-night dancers from Friday night!)

It was finally our last day, but we didn’t let that stop us before our afternoon flight! Many enjoyed an early rise and breakfast to get the last sunshine and swims in before heading to our farewell lunch at the well-known Fish D’vine restaurant.  The ladies all knew we were being ‘transferred’ from the hotel to lunch, what they didn’t know was the transfer was by Tuk Tuk!  The delights and squeals as they arrived certainly made it worthwhile.  Although it was a short distance from the hotel to the restaurant the Tuk Tuk team made it very enjoyable with a few detours thrown in.   Lunch was (literally) devine – a banquet with 3 courses including incredible fresh and cooked seafood.  With our tummies and hearts full we were collected from the restaurant to head to the airport for our flight home.

The next LLW departure is Hobart in March 2022 which is already sold out.  I am offering a departure the following weekend which is available for the men as well.

Please let me know if you would like more information.

Beautifully organized- details were incredible and the welcome from Tina warm, friendly and genuine. Nothing else to add - superb!
I would just like to thank you for everything. Every detail was amazing. From the bags with the goodies to the tuk tuk ride. You made it all very easy.
I was full of trepidation but was very pleasantly surprised- I would definitely encourage others to participate too
