Adelaide

18 - 21 February 2021

I’m going to come right out and say it – Adelaide is totally underrated! I find we tend to prioritise the ‘big cities’ like Sydney and Melbourne ahead of our quaint, smaller capitals.  Why?

On the 18th February I escorted 17 incredible women of all ages and backgrounds for the Ladies Long Weekend in Adelaide.  Leading up to our departure there was a fair bit of trepidation mixed with our excitement - this would be the first flight for most of us since the dreaded ‘virus’ landed on our shores.  But oh, were we ready!

We had a fantastic weekend, timed perfectly with the opening of the Adelaide Fringe Festival that ran through until the 21st March.  Based at the brand new Crowne Plaza in Adelaide’s East End we were right amongst it.  Restaurants, pubs and cafes all spilled out on to the streets each night from 5pm.  The weekend was full of live music, food carts, and markets – the ambience and ‘life’ was truly uplifting after such a dark year.

We spent our days exploring the surrounding areas of Adelaide.  On Friday we ventured in to the Adelaide Hills visiting wineries, lunch at Lot 100 - the home of five of South Australia's best, forward-thinking, food and craft beverage producers finished off with a spot of shopping in the gorgeous German town of Hahndorf.  Saturday saw us in one of South Australia’s premier wine regions – McLaren Vale.  Just driving between each small, family owned winery was breathtaking and meeting the makers and families behind these wines made the day extra special.  Sunday was spent doing our own thing – some ladies getting massages, some exploring Glenelg before we boarded our flight home.  To sum the weekend up – truly amazing made all the better for the women who joined me.
